(Germantown, TN 5/3/2010) Officials in Germantown are warning folks to stay away from the rising Wolf River which is already several feet above flood stage, and the current is moving fast.
Fire Chief Dennis Wolf says crews rescued people after they tried to travel the river on a raft the last time the Wolf River overflowed.
He says if folks use caution and common sense this time around, everyone will remain safe.
Chief Wolf puts it simpl, "Stay out of the water."
Residents who live near Sanga and Forest Breeze say the water is only about four feet from property lines.
They worry their homes might be damaged if the water continues to rise.
There has already been some property damage.
A truck at a construction site along Wolf River Blvd. was almost entirely under water.
The river is expected to crest Tuesday at 25.5 feet.
The Greenway and other parks along the river are closed until the threat is over.
