I'm not concerned about the Broncos losing to the Ravens. Not in the least bit. Yes, they were outplayed and outcoached in all phases of the game (to paraphrase Josh McDaniels). However, as the guys told me in the locker room Monday, the mistakes were mostly correctable ones.
Andre Goodman went so far as to say the Broncos just didn't come in with the right mindset, and that the Ravens were the more aggressive team and deserved to win.
I'll try to share with you as best I can the vibe in the locker room Monday. There wasn't any panic, no hang-dogging, and at the same time, noone seemed too aloof 24 hours after getting battered by Baltimore.
There was a calmness, a business like attitude that I haven't truly felt at Dove Valley following a loss since 2005. It was as if the team was collectively expressing: Yeah, we lost... Yeah, the '72 Dolphins are safe for another year... but this loss doesn't change who we are, what we're trying to accomplish, and how we are going to do it.
For any and all Broncomaniacs, it was a feeling I wish you could experience first hand. This team is completely unshaken by the loss, and I'm certain that the Steelers are going to walk into a hornets nest Monday night... of course, that's a different blog for a different day.
