BOULDER, Colo. (AP) — Family and friends are mourning the three people killed in the plane collision over Boulder.
Fifty-eight-year-old Boulder lawyer and pilot Bob Matthews and his 56-year-old brother, Englewood engineer Mark Matthews, died along with 25-year-old Alexander Howard Gilmer of Evergreen when Bob Matthews' Cirrus SR20 collided with a Piper Pawnee that Gilmer was flying Saturday. A glider Gilmer was towing cut loose and flew to safety.
Bob Matthews is a father of three. Mark Matthews has two children.
Neighbor Jim Weis says Mark Matthews organized his neighborhood's July 4th celebration and shoveled neighbors' walks. Friend Neal Cohen says Bob Matthews was "the center of gravity" for his friends.
Gilmer's father, Todd Gilmer, says his family is grieving.
