GOLDEN, Colo. -
West Nile Virus is back. Jefferson County health officials have confirmed Colorado's first human case of West Nile this year.
The patient, who was not identified, is recovering at home, officials said.
The state's first West Nile-carrying mosquito was confirmed in early June in Fort Collins.
Health officials say residents should take precautions to reduce the chance of contracting West Nile, for instance, removing standing water where mosquitoes can breed and wearing insect repellent.
