Louisville man gets $9M water bill
Jim Pagano lives in a modest home in downtown Louisville. His home has one hose, but when he got December's water bill, he thought he was getting hosed. That is because his water bill for one month was $8,959,773.41.

While he first thought the bill was like eight thousand dollars, it in fact was nearly 9 million dollars.

"We just put in a new billing system and it has some bugs in it for sure," said Malcolm Fleming, City Manager. "We know water is precious and we bill for its preciousness."

As for Jim, well he called in and perhaps because he is a lawyer, he was able to work out "an amicable agreement" to get his bill reduced; reduced down to $38 dollars and change to which Pagano said, "I am happy about them working this out, for sure when they told me that the $8.9 million was enough to pay for all the water the City uses in about 16 months."

In the end, Fleming said, "We don't have bugs in our water here in Louisville, but we do have some bugs in our water billing system!"
