Real estate + Social Media = Denver's 'Twitter house'
Millions use it every day to keep in touch with friends, family and even strangers. The political unrest helped shed even more light on the social networking service ' Twitter.'

And now - you knew it would come to this - marketers are using it.

In Denver's Wash Park, a realtor is using it to sell a $2.3 million dollar home in the 800 block of S. Franklin.

"I was just walking my dog through the park and I saw this house is on Twitter," says neighbor Chelsea Willis.

Willis checked out "Serenity House"on Twitter and liked what she saw. "I follow them on twitter now," she says.

That means she gets periodic updates or 'tweets,' including pictures, on the 4-story home.

And she can tweet back if she wants.

"I'm a wannabe computer geek. Twitter is very new for me. But i see it everywhere. I think it would be great way to market something," says home-seller Dano Keys.

A social media consulant guided keys in letting his house do the talking--sort of.

"The house can then answer questions. So instead of just having a flyer, that lists the numbers and features, you can actually engage the customers on what their real questions are in a humanized way," says social media consultant Drew Shope.

The so-called Serenity House is generating buzz. but whether it generates sales is another question.

"The point of social media is not marketing. It's about having a presence. It's about being an expert. It's about being yourself. And people with similar interests, people looking to buy things, will seek you out," says Shope.

So far about 100 people are following Serenity house.
