LITTLETON, Colo. -
A large Cottonwood tree came crashing down onto a power pole in Littleton Tuesday afternoon, knocking out electricity to more than 350 Xcel Energy customers, Xcel said.
The tree fell around 2:30 p.m. during an isolated, but powerful thunderstorm. It came to rest across Windermere Street, completely blocking traffic.
Xcel Energy spokesman Mike Stutz said the tree knocked down a power pole and 4 spans of wire. There were no injuries.
Stutz said power was quickly being re-established in the area and city crews were working to remove the tree.
