Teen hit by freight train

A teenager was hit by a freight train early Tuesday in Commerce City. It happened in the 7200 block of Colorado Highway 2 at about 1:00 a.m.

Police found a 17-year-old underneath the train. Burlington Northern/Santa Fe railroad employees told investigators that just before the teen was hit, they observed a person lying on the tracks.


The juvenile was taken to Denver Health Medical Center and was in stable condition with serious injuries Tuesday.
