Boyfriend sought in Thornton Thanksgiving murder
THORNTON - A Thornton woman is stabbed to death on Thanksgiving day and now police are looking for her boyfriend. The Adams county coroner has identified the victim as Claudia Ceballos, 39.

She was dead inside her Creekside place apartment in at 9189 Gale blvd.

A neighbor called 911 at 6:04 p.m. after Ceballos's teenaged son found her lying on the floor in a pool of blood.

"I was getting ready to leave, and he flagged me down and he asked my if I'd seen anybody running from here. And I told him 'no.' I asked him why and he said his mom had just been stabbed," says witness Andrea Trujillo. She went into the apartment and says, "There was blood everywhere...She (Ceballos) was already gone."

Ceballos had multiple stab wounds to her upper torso.

"He was upset. He didn't know what to do. He was in shock. He was looking for anybody to help him," says Trujillo.

Ceballos lived in the apartment with boyfriend, Roman Munoz. but he was no where to be found. And Ceballos's car was missing. Police think Munoz took it and left his truck behind in the complex parking lot. On Friday, Denver police found the Dodge Neon in the 2700 block of w. 32nd ave.

"According to family, the last person that was with the victim was her boyfriend. And so far he is unaccounted for. He is a person of interest at this time," says Officer Matt Barnes with Thornton Police.

The apartment complex posted notices of the murder on residents' doors. It's information about a violent, bloody death Trujillo knows more about than she'd like.

It's not the Thanksgiving she planned. But it's made her count her blessings more than ever--and made her wish a day of Thanks wasn't full of sorrow for a boy and his family.

"I was scared. I didn't know. When you see someone lying there lifeless and the son is leaning over her, crying, 'Mom.' You're not getting a response. You always wish there was something more that you could have done," says Trujillo.

Barnes says he could find no history of previous domestic violence between the couple. And neighbors say they had never seen or heard them fighting.

Ceballos leaves behind three children--two who had left Ceballos's home earlier in the day to spend thanksgiving with their father and grandparents. police say they're trying to track down a picture of Munoz. but are having trouble because he uses several aliases and dates of birth.
