GREELEY, Colo. -
The JBS Swift Beef Company in Greeley recalled more than 41,000 pounds of beef products that may be contaminated with E. coli according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
The beef products were produced April 21 and 22, 2009. They went to distributors and stores in Colorado, Arizona, California, Florida, Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, Oregon, South Carolina, Tennessee, Utah, and Wisconsin.

E. coli O157:H7 is a potentially deadly bacterium that can cause bloody diarrhea, dehydration, and in the most severe cases, kidney failure.
