DENVER - The owner of a sushi restaurant in downtown Denver has been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting at his business Thursday.
Yan De Yang, 40, faces a charge of Murder in the First Degree.
Denver Police say the male victim was shot multiple times following a physical altercation involving several people inside Chopsticks & Sushi, located at 1630 Welton St., around 3:40 p.m. The restaurant is located just footsteps from Denver's busy 16th Street pedestrian mall.
Police have not revealed the nature of the dispute.
The victim was rushed to Denver Health Medical Center and pronounced dead a short time later. His identity was not immediately known.
Detectives planned present their case to the Denver District Attorney for consideration of formal charges against Yang within the next several days.
