Saturday night, May 23rd, at 9:30 PM, on FOX 31's "Double Coverage" program, this year's 12 finalists for the Fred Steinmark Athlete of the Year Award will be announced. A record number of seniors were nominated for this prestigious honor, and some of their photos are included here. Long-time prep sports writer, Scott Stocker, most recently of The Rocky Mountain News, founded the award back in the early 1970's. And, the very first recipient was the pride of Wheat Ridge High School, Dave Logan, currently the Radio Voice of the Denver Broncos and state championship football coach at Mullen High School.
