PARKER, Colo. -
Many residents in the Antelope Heights neighborhood in Parker are wondering why Homeowners Associations are opposed to letting residents to put up privacy fences on parts of their yards that back up against area green belts.
"We can have a tall fence on the sides of our property, but not on the back section that borders the open space," said Blair Whalen. "If we could have a solid fence it would make it much harder for anyone to get into our back yards."
Police confirm there have been at least three break-ins in the past five days, but residents say the number they hear is more like 20 over the past few months.
The area south of Lincoln Ave. near Jordan Road and Hess is where the new "greenbelt robbers" are striking. Police say they are encouraging residents to lock up doors and windows and keep their garage doors closed, all of which they say will help keep the crooks out.
Anyone with information about the break-ins should call 911 where ever they live.
