NEDERLAND -
It was like something out of a horror movie. Only this Halloween slasher was all too real.
Nederland Police say that on Halloween night, around 10:30 pm, a woman hear a knock at her door on the 300 block of West Pine St.
Someone had knocked on the door, she believed it was a trick-or-treater, we had several trick or treat-ers in the neighborhood at that time, Nederland Sgt. Jake Adler said today.
On the door step was a person dressed all in black, wearing the killers mask from the horror movie Scream.
Only, it wasnt a Halloween costume. Police say the intruder pushed the women back into her home, and stabbed her in the arms and face, pinning her to the ground.
It was the womans dogs, police say, that scared the attacker off.
She believes the dogs startled him at that point, he got up off of her and exited the house at that point, Sgt. Adler said.
Police canvassed surrounding neighborhoods looking for anyone matching the attackers description, but so far do not have a suspect.
The victim was treated and released from Boulder Community Hospital. Shes expected to make a full recovery.
But her neighbors, including Sidney Radoff who was out trick-or-treating last night, are trying to recover from the real life scare.
She's so nice, she's never done anything to anybody, Radoff told us. That's scary, that's crazy.
