Tom McClelland was with his son at the time of the shooting. He said they were at the shop to get a tire fixed and one of the employees, Brad Blehm, was cursing at him, so he complained to the manager.

"Eventually the manager sent him home. He did not go home. He was drunk, and had a liquor vile in his back pocket. He waited outside for us. He moved in front of my truck. He tried to pull me out of it. My son defended me," Tom McClelland said.

The father says he believes the charges are ridiculous. "We didn't want this. He stalked us," McClelland said.

According to the arrest affidavit, Logan McClelland told police Blehm confronted the family as they were leaving, flipped them off, yelled at them, then reached into the vehicle and hit McClelland's father, who then got out of the truck.

McClelland said he got his father's gun, saw the two arguing, and shot the man.

The affidavit says the suspect did not yell "freeze" and he did not call police. It says he considered punching or tackling the Blehm, but was concerned he as armed. Blehm was not armed.
