BROOMFIELD, Colo. - A Broomfield High School psychology teacher and star wrestling coach is under investigation after being accused of sending inappropriate text messages to underage female students.

"I think it's disgusting," said an 18-year-old student who didn't want to be identified. The high school senior says his 16-year-old former girlfriend is one of Travis Masse's alleged victims.

"(Masse) sent her text messages that said, "Sex ?" and other things that you would not expect a teacher to send to a student."

The student says the 16-year-old girl showed him the messages on her phone.

Other students at the school say they were pulled out of classes on Wednesday and asked to provide additional information to school administrators.

The Broomfield Police Department confirms there is an "active investigation concerning inappropriate text messaging."

Masse, 28, has not been formally charged with any crime.

A spokesperson for the school district would not comment on investigation, but did say they are cooperating with police. Masse no longer works at the school. He resigned in February.

We tried to talk to Masse at his home. He saw us at his door, but would not open it.

Students say they are speaking out because they believe parents have a right to know about the allegations.

"You take your kids to school and think its safe, but it might not be," the 18-year-old told us. "If I were a parent I would want to know."
