Louisville, Colorado named "Best Place to Live"
LOUISVILLE, Colo. - A big honor for one of metro Denver's smaller suburbs. CNNMoney.com has named Louisville the #1 "Best Place to Live" in America.

Just a few miles east of the Rockies, CNNMoney says Louisville has the perfect location, charm and energy, and is "weathering the economic downturn well." It cited the city's high-tech, energy and health care industries which make Boulder County's unemployment rate among the lowest in the state.

The publication also mentioned Louisville's 30 miles of trails, close proximity to Rocky Mountain National Park, low crime rate and quality schools.

"In every corner of Colorado, our state is blessed with communities that often sit atop national rankings as the best place to live, work or play," Gov. Bill Ritter said in a statement Monday.

"This is now the community of Louisville's time in the sun - and for good reason. The rest of the country will soon know what we've known for a very long time: Louisville is a true Colorado gem. The secret is out about just how great the communities along the Highway 36 corridor are. Congratulations to Louisville and Superior."
