Holiday travelers watch airfares jump daily
DENVER - Airfare during the holidays is getting pretty expensive, and travel agents say the prices are only going up. Jerry Kazzaz at Custom Travel in Denver says every day you wait to buy your ticket, the price could go up anywhere from 5% - 15%.

"A fare that was $300 yesterday is $320 today, and something that was $300 last week is $350 this week," Kazzaz said. He says fares are still down from last year, but with fewer seats available prices are climbing. Plus, many airlines are now adding on holiday surcharges.

"They are going to ding you 10-20 bucks per person, per direction on these peak travel days," Kazzaz said.

He suggests being flexible, flying on non-peak days and buying sooner rather than later. There are still some deals out there, he says.
