AVON, COLO. - Authorities in Eagle County have arrested an illegal immigrant accused of sexually assaulting a 12-year-old whom he allegedly met online.

Adolfo Guardado, 24, of Edwards faces charges of sexual assault on a child, second degree kidnapping, and enticement of a child.

According to the Eagle County Sheriff's Office, Guardado had been chatting online and exchanging phone calls with the child, who then asked Guardado for a ride to school in Edwards on the morning of May 18th.

Guardado, according to police, picked up the child and drove to a remote cabin on National Forest land 10 miles from Wolcott where the alleged assault occurred. The child was then dropped off at school.

Officials have not said if the victim is a boy or girl.

Eagle County official say Guardado was cooperative with law enforcement and has admitted to sexually assaulting the child.

He was being held at the Eagle County Detention Facility on a $15,000 bond.

Guardado also has an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detainer for being in the US illegally from Mexico, officials said.
