Gas line break closes 2 schools, shuts down road
CHERRY HILLS VILLAGE, Colo. - A break in a natural gas main closed Kent Denver and Cherry Hills Village Elementary schools Tuesday. it also shutdown Quincy Avenue in south metro Denver.

Crews from Xcel Energy don't expect to have the line fixed and the road reopened until noon Tuesday.

Xcel Energy says the gas main broke at about 3:00 p.m. Monday when a contractor hit it. Repair crews have been working on the situation since that time.

Quincy between Colorado Boulevard and University Boulevard was closed as a precaution.
