EATON, Colo. -
An elderly woman who disappeared for two days has been found safe in an Eastern Colorado corn field.
Authorities say 83-year-old Basilisa Ayala of Eaton went missing Saturday afternoon on her way to visit a relative in Greeley. When Ayala didn't arrive, family members reported her missing.
A corn farmer 135 miles away from Ayala's home discovered her car Monday. The farmer in Washington County reported an abandoned white 2002 Oldsmobile Alero on a rural access road.
Police found Ayala nearby, covered in sandburs and dehydrated but otherwise unhurt. She was treated at Yuma District Hospital.
