DENVER - Halloween weekend proved to be a real nightmare for 350 people arrested for drunk driving in Colorado.
The Colorado State Patrol, along with 22 law enforcement, agencies reported 350 DUI arrests over a four-day period from Friday, Oct. 30 through Monday, Nov. 2.
CSP had the highest number of arrests with 111, followed by Denver Police with 62. Colorado Springs had 41.
"Getting a DUI is a frightening experience that you never want to go through, but killing or injuring someone because you chose to drink and drive is the worse nightmare you can face," said Col. James Wolfinbarger, chief of the Colorado State Patrol, in a statement Friday.
"The drivers we arrested Halloween weekend could have easily ruined countless lives and ended up in prison. As we head into the holiday season, please remember to make the right choice to designate a sober driver or get a safe ride home."
CSP said there no traffic fatalities were reported over Halloween weekend.
