They had one suspect, a 16-year-old, in custody Thursday afternoon. Investigators said they were still looking for the teen's father.

Authorities say they received a call at about 9:15 p.m. that a 43-year-old man and his 45-year-old wife were shot.

The husband, whom friends call "Danny," died, his wife remains at North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley. Her condition was not released.

SWAT teams spent the night and early morning searching for 2 suspects near 2 homes on Weld County Road 18, between county roads 39 and 41. The rural area is nestled between I-76 and Hudson, and the Platte Valley Airport.

Investigators say tensions between the victims and the suspects actually began Sunday. The victims' pit bull was accused of chasing or harassing the suspects' chickens or horses, it is still unknown which, and the pit bull was removed by animal control Sunday. But the problem between the two parties apparently was not resolved and escalated until Wednesday night's deadly drama.
