Andrew Charles Donahue
GREELEY, Colo. - An 18-year-old University of Northern Colorado student faces felony charges for allegedly trying to set a bag of dog poop ablaze on his neighbor's front porch.
Andrew Charles Donahue was booked on charges of attempted first-degree arson, reckless endangerment, criminal mischief and possession of alcohol by a minor in connection with Sunday's incident in Greeley.
Police say Donahue was caught red-handed by the neighbor, a 57-year-old longtime Greeley resident and small businessman, as he approached the home carrying a bag of dog poop and kitchen matches early Sunday morning after a night of partying.
They say the neighbor tackled Donahue before he had the chance to set the bag ablaze and held him until authorities arrived.
Earlier that same morning, the neighbor had called police to complain about a loud party next door. Shortly after that, someone 'doorbell ditched' him after setting a newspaper ablaze on his front porch.
Police say the homeowner had been waiting for the students next door to pull another prank when Donahue approached the home.
