Fort Carson soldier killed in Afghanistan
DENVER - A decorated Fort Carson soldier has been killed while fighting in Afghanistan.

Sergeant first class Jason J. Fabrizi died from wounds suffered when his mounted patrol unit was attacked in the Konar Province of Afghanistan on Tuesday.

The attackers used rocket-propelled grenades and small arms fire.

The 29-year-old was originally from of Seffner, Florida.

Fabrizi joined the Army in 1998 and served three tours in Iraq before deploying to Afghanistan in May.

He had earned a purple heart, two army medals, two bronze stars and more than a dozen other honors during his service.
