FORT COLLINS, Colo. - A man was killed when his pickup truck crashed head-on into a portion of the dam at Horsetooth Reservoir Tuesday.
The accident happened shortly before noon.
The Colorado State Patrol said the Fort Ranger truck hit guard rails and slammed into a pump station atop the Soldier Canyon Dam, which holds back water at Horsetooth Reservoir.
There were no apparent skid marks.
The driver, whose name was not immediately released, was pronounced dead at the scene. Alcohol and drugs are not suspected.
