GOLDEN, Colo. -
A 31-year-old habitual criminal was sentenced to 25-years in prison Thursday by a Jefferson County District Judge. Michael Chard and his partner, 32-year-old Brandy Dippel went on a two month crime spree that victimized nearly 200 people and thousands of items of stolen property.
On Friday, victims will have a chance to view the recovered items and see if they can get any of their belongings back.
Investigators say Chard is the most prolific thief they've ever seen, breaking into cars and sometimes stealing the vehicles. They say he fenced stolen good to support his drug habit.
One victim, Erika Bol, says she is the poster child of what "not" to keep in your car. Chard victimized her when she stopped for a quick bite to eat at a local restaurant.
She says she had new purchases, a camera, her briefcase, even house keys in the car and all of that was stolen. She hopes she can get at least something back Friday.
Those who were victimized should contact Lakewood Police to recover their stolen items.
