At least some of Copper Mountain's terrain is leased from the Forest Service.

Intrawest says the sale is expected to close in December.

Powdr Corp., based in Salt Lake City, owns eight other U.S. ski resorts including Park City and Gorgoza Park in Utah, Killington and Pico Mountain in Vermont, Mount Bachelor in Oregon, and Boreal Mountain and Soda Springs in California.
