They came for free on the spot career coaching to kick start careers. With Colorado unemployment at a 22 year high, jobs that are being filled require advanced education.

Out of reach for more than 70 percent who don't have college or advanced degrees or just can't go back to school.

"I've done a variety of career testing to see what my interests are," said Jenny Poland, who was seeking career coaching, "But they tend to look at what you've already done rather than what you might do in the future and so i'm hoping to get new ideas."

Elearners.com (http://www.elearners.com/) is offering a shot at four million dollars in online degree scholarships, through several accredited schools.

The 40 city tour launched in Denver is called "Career Stimulus Package," to help the underemployed.

Allowing working moms like Alyssa Ohleyer to fulfill a lifelong dream.

"It would have been impossible right now because I'm supporting the family," said Alyssa, who won a full scholarship for an advanced degree last year, "My husband lost his job last year when the economy went downhill so it never, never would have happened like in the next 10, 15 years."

Scholarship applicants submit an essay describing their goals, and how the money would make those a reality.

"It's empty nesters syndrome for me so this is a perfect time," said Karen Gerdine, "I don't have to take a hard route of going back to college as I did when I was raising my children, this would be more a luxury and a lifelong passion."

And in today's job market, the scholarships are a "bail out" for someone other than big business.
