Medical marijuana convention opens in Denver, without marijuana
DENVER - Organizers bill it as the largest cannabis convention in the United States history, and it's going on at the Denver Convention Center this weekend.

340 vendors are displaying everything from posters and glassware, to booths with lawyers, accountants and insurance companies. Many of the booths have to do with growing and dispensing medical marijuana.

One thing you won't see, however, is any marijuana.

"You cannot get any medicine. There is no marijuana, nothing infused, nothing growing, no plants. There is no medicine on site," says organizer Wanda James.

There are also legislative and legal panel discussions slated for Saturday.

"We're looking at bringing the whole industry and lifestyle surrounding cannabis to Colorado and let people come see for themselves what it's all about," James says.

She says a recent cannabis convention in LA drew more than 50,000 visitors and they expect to top that with the Denver convention.

The convention's sponsors are KUSH Magazine and DailyBuds.com, an online industry publication.
