DENVER - A 12-year-old boy from Thornton, Colorado is getting a lot of attention playing the role of Michael in the national Broadway tour of Mary Poppins. The show is playing at the Buell Theatre through April 4th.
Bryce Baldwin has not been in Colorado much of the last year, and says it's great to be home, even if it's just for a few weeks.
"I'm glad to be here and see all of my friends," Bryce said.
His life on the road is very different from life here. He and his family live on a small farm in Thornton and have lots of animals including goats, llamas and a mini-donkey.
His mother, who is a hospice worker, took a leave from her job to travel with Bryce to all the different cities. His father, who is a firefighter, stays home with older sister, Ashlee, who is an accomplished actress herself.
"It's been difficult being home without them," David Baldwin said.
But the family is very supportive, and they meet up in different cities whenever they can.
Bryce will be on the road until August, then he plans to come home and start 7th grade at Rocky Top Middle School. He says he loves acting, but he's not sure if he'll make a lifelong career out of it.
"I'm not sure that I could live off of that, so I'm planning to open up an animal clinic with my sister."
