DENVER—
The Faces of Hunger campaign is a project where everyone in the community can do something to help fight hunger in Colorado. Read more to see how you can have an impact and make a difference by participating in a special photo contest.FOX 31 KDVR and The Deuce are joining Denver Magazine in an effort to help the Food Bank of the Rockies raise awareness and encourage people to help fight hunger in Colorado.
We are launching the Faces of Hunger campaign this summer in hopes of generating much needed financial donations and food through an exciting photography contest.
The reasons for this are because times are tough for many people in our community, but those with nowhere to go or children to feed in the face of an unexpected blow are being hit the hardest.
The Food Bank of the Rockies says there is a 20 100 percent increase in people turning to food assistance agencies. So, the food assistance programs can use all the help and support they can get.
Food Bank of the Rockies, Denver Magazine, The Deuce, and FOX 31 have partnered to give local photography lovers the opportunity to profile more faces of hunger and to learn, first-hand, the reality of a problem taking place in our own backyard.
Visit www.foodbankrockies.org for complete contest information and application.
All entries must be postmarked by June 15, 2009. Call (303) 375-5852 if you have questions or want more information about the photo contest.
The top 50 entries will go on display at an event at Fat Tail Gallery September 2, 2009. Winning entries will also be featured in Denver Magazine, on Daybreak on The Deuce, and on Good Day Colorado.
