The famous and popular Ford Mustang has gone electric. The all-electric, zero-emissions version isn't your standard battery-powered car.
It goes from zero to 60 in 5.6 seconds, it has a top speed of 85 miles per hour, it goes 200 miles on a single charge, and it recharges in about an hour from a standard electrical outlet.
There is plenty of reason for people to look into getting an electric car. Colorado offers an 85% tax credit on top of the $7,500 federal tax credit for the purchase of an all-electric vehicle.
Dan Daru appeared with Kurt Neutgens of Plug-In Motors at Lakewood Ford during Good Day Colorado Monday to see just what the all-electric Mustang is like. Neutgens spent a large part of his career working as an automobile engineer with the Ford Motor Company. He's also the engineer behind this next generation of electric cars. He's in the business of converting gasoline-burning cars and trucks to all-electric versions.
